This is important. Although completely irrelevant.

You should eat ice cream with a fork.

Reason #1: You can dive straight into ice cream, no matter how frozen it is. The first flaw of the spoon is that it is inherently dull. We’ve all struggled with a frozen tub of ice cream, only to pull out a small sliver. Forks, being sharper, win that battle. Seriously, people have been injured from this.

Reason #2: You don’t need to do the strategic spoon flip. When eating ice cream with a spoon, it's common to flip the spoon as you bring it to your mouth so the ice cream hits your tongue. This is known as "the strategic spoon flip." However, a fork provides ice cream on both sides of the utensil, which is ultimately superior to a spoon.

Reason #3: A fork is a better stirring utensil. Like many others, I prefer to stir hand-scooped ice cream until it reaches the consistency of soft serve. A fork is more like a whisk, making it more efficient at stirring the ice cream. Point: fork.

Reason #4: You don’t have to endure the melty cream at the bottom of the bowl. I’ll admit, this one is controversial since some people enjoy the melted sweet milk left after eating the frozen part. But I don’t. I want to eat it fast enough to enjoy it while it’s still good. The fork is the perfect tool to avoid the melted parts.
